Transitions and teambuilding are
not new - they seem to have been at the center of my life's professional and
personal experience all along.
After earning a masters in
economics, I taught at a university for six years, then tried sales with
Xerox [L),
then joined an information systems vendor and for ten years managed large
staffs of IT application developers and customer support groups, and finally
became an independent and for 12 years was consulting to large and complex
organizations that needed mission-critical projects designed and implemented
- on time and on budget.
I finally discovered that even
though my responsibilities lacked the label of "coach" or "teambuilding
consultant," that was a big part of my role, and the part that I liked the
best.
Following this call, I undertook a
whole curriculum of formal training and subsequent
certification in skills and tools that now help me help my clients get the value
they expect and deserve from my services.
To help others, to help enterprises
- it has been the most satisfying of all I have held in the fields I have
transitioned through.
